2022 final · Argentina 3–3 France (4–2 pens) · Lusail
The banned beer brand got the most goal time
Two days before kickoff, FIFA banned beer sales at Qatar's stadiums (NPR). In the final's highlights, Budweiser still spent more time on screen around the goals than any other brand: 36 seconds. That's 19% of goal-moment time, from 11% of all sponsor screen time.
It came down to two Messi goals
Messi's 23rd-minute penalty and his 108th-minute winner both went in in front of the same stretch of boards: Budweiser and Crypto.com. The winner, with its replays, gave Budweiser 25 seconds and Crypto.com 20. The other goals went to other brands:
- Di María's goal: Wanda.
- Mbappé's first penalty: Coca-Cola and Hyundai.
- Mbappé's volley: Qatar Airways.
- Mbappé's 118th-minute penalty: Mengniu's Chinese-language boards.
- The shootout: Visa.
Every sponsor, second by second
Nineteen sponsors appear on the boards. Some never appear during a goal:
- Hisense and QatarEnergy: 55 seconds between them.
- The four South American regional supporters: Nubank, Claro, UPL and Inter Rapidísimo.
- BYJU'S: a large board at 8:30–8:42, then never again.

One match, one highlight edit, sampled once per second. Board recall in this video is 0.75, and lower for small, distant boards, so a brand's true seconds are somewhat higher than shown. The goal ranking rests on two goals in front of one set of boards.
