Three regional supporters got Brazil's goal

FIFA's top-tier partners pay the most and get the most board time. In this game they had half of all sponsor screen time. But when Vinícius equalised, the boards behind him belonged to Kraken, Betano and Inter Rapidísimo, three regional supporters. Through the build-up, celebration and replays they took 72% of goal-moment seconds.

One goal, eighty seconds, three small sponsors

Saibari's opener for Morocco went to Hyundai (13 seconds) and Qatar Airways. Vinícius's equaliser was another matter. Its build-up, its celebration at the corner flag and its replays were all framed by Kraken, a crypto exchange (27 s), Betano, a betting brand (25 s), and Inter Rapidísimo, a Colombian courier (22 s). Visa got 12. Aramco, Lenovo and Adidas, all top-tier partners, were on screen for 96 seconds between them and for none of either goal.

Kraken, Betano and Inter Rapidísimo jump from ~5% of screen time to over 20% of goal time each

Every sponsor, second by second

Twenty-three sponsors appear in ten minutes, with more brands and shorter turns than in 2022. Two threads from the final continue here:

  • Beer: AB InBev's only board in this game was Michelob Ultra, for 7 seconds. No Budweiser board appeared.
  • Chinese brands: Lenovo, Hisense and Mengniu held 12% of screen time, half their 2022 share, and none of the goal time. Mengniu's boards were in Chinese, even in New Jersey.

One group game, one highlight edit, at 720p. Board recall in this video is 0.82. The 72% figure rests mostly on a single goal; regional boards behind the goal at the right moment is the finding, not a pattern yet.
